Dragash
Dragash is a highland town in southern Kosovo, useful as an access point for the mountain villages and landscapes of the Sharr region.
Local context
Its value lies in its mountain setting and the road network towards Brod, Restelica and the wider Sharr countryside.
Use it as part of a wider route
Use Dragash alongside Brod, Brod Mountains and the Sharr Mountains pages. This is best treated as local orientation rather than a promise of a full-service visitor destination.
Plan directly
For individual heritage sites, businesses and outdoor locations, check current access and arrangements before travelling. The mapped City and Place pages provide the most useful starting point for building a sensible route.

History
A brief history of Dragash
Dragash belongs to a highland municipality made up of the historical regions of Opoja and Gora. The source describes a landscape of pasture, forest, water and cultivable valley ground that supported early settlement and a long pastoral economy. Archaeological remains, older place-names and written medieval references preserve evidence of communities established well before the modern municipal centre.
Under Ottoman rule, livestock, agriculture, beekeeping and trade with Prizren were central to local life. The source also records the work of Kukli Beg in Opoja, including a caravanserai at the former town of Zinova, which supported commerce in the area. Later administrative and economic changes affected the mountain communities, but their historical setting remained tied to seasonal movement, pastoral production and the routes connecting Opoja and Gora with Prizren. This is the context in which Dragash developed as the local centre of a wider Sharr highland landscape.
