Xërxa

Municipality Rahovec

Xërxa is in the municipality of Rahovec. A historical document from 1330 mentions the settlement. An Ottoman register from 1530 documents the settlement under the form Zerzeva with 28 households and 4 unmarried men.

A later register from 1591 documents the settlement under the form Zirzova with 20 households and 8 unmarried men. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include pottery and tile fragments, building foundations, and older burial grounds.
