Settlement

Mushtisht

Suharekë

Mushtisht sits in a valley below the Sharr Mountains, southeast of Suharekë. Osmani records both traditions around the settlement’s name and archaeological indications of early occupation, including the Gradishta and Gradafci sites. Written references in the entry reach to fourteenth-century charters and later Ottoman registers.

The study also records the Kulla e Pashës as a seventeenth-century structure. Its account of 1999 is important but should be read as a concise, source-led historical note: it records destruction by Serbian military-police forces and the forced departure of Kosovo Albanian residents. Detailed records, source trails and local lists remain in the original volume.
