Zubin Potok

Zubin Potok is defined by the upper Ibar landscape: river valleys, wooded slopes and villages spread across a north-western part of Kosovo. The municipal record describes a territory of numerous rural settlements and notes its connection to the Ibar basin. Older local sites and place names, together with medieval and Ottoman written references for individual settlements, provide the historical evidence that can safely be presented for the area.

Administrative boundaries have changed over time, including the later restoration of Zubin Potok as a municipality. Its river landscape, village network and documentary traces remain central to the locality’s identity. Zubin Potok’s history is the story of settlements adapting to the terrain and communications of the upper Ibar across changing political and administrative settings.
