An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement under the form Dolina Çeçeva with 10 households. A later register from 1566 documents the settlement under the form Dolina Çiçova with 6 households. A historical document from 1763 mentions the settlement.
The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Çiçeva.
