A historical document from 1315 mentions the settlement. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement under the form Kozara. A later register from 1468 documents the settlement.

The register from 1604 documents the settlement with 11 households. The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Kozareva.
