Zatriq lies within the municipality of Rahovec. Zatriqi lies at about 920 metres above sea level in the mountain massif of the same name. Gradishta e Madhe and Gradishta e Vogël, nearby caves and fortification traces make the area one of the richer concentrations of early remains in this part of Rahovec.
Written records trace the settlement at least to 1689, with further references in 1893, 1896. Around 1879, the settlement formed part of the Bajrak of Palluzhës and had 89 households. The 20th century also brought emigration of some residents to Turkey.
During the 1998–1999 war, the settlement suffered burning and destruction by Serbian forces. 18 residents were killed during the war. The wartime record also lists 2 people as missing.
