According to local tradition, viça is in the municipality of Shterpce. Viça is in the municipality of Shterpce. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement with 42 households and 1 unmarried man.

A later register from 1566 documents the settlement with 21 households and 4 unmarried men. The register from 1893 documents the settlement. Historical sources also record the settlement under the form Vica.
