Vërshec, treated in the volume as Vrrioni (Vërsheci), lies about 8 km northeast of Theranda, in a long, broad valley. At Fusha e Thingijve, house foundations, stones, roof tiles and bricks have been recorded; at Vrella e Thingillit, old graves with large stone slabs survive.
An Ottoman register from 1530 records a form of the name Vërshefc with seven households. Late-19th-century yearbooks list the settlement as Virshefçe. Local tradition also preserves memories of earlier migration toward Çarravik in the municipality of Klina.
Before the 1998–99 war the village had around 24 families and approximately 214 Albanian residents. Serbian attacks burned or destroyed 13 houses, while two civilian residents were killed. For such a small settlement, these losses represented a severe blow to family life and village property.
