Ujmiri (Savrova) lies about 5–6 km southeast of Theranda, across flat ground and low hills. Several old burial grounds, church foundations, building stones, pottery and traces of a cobbled road survive in the village, pointing to an earlier inhabited landscape.
An Ottoman register from 1485 records a form of the name Savrova with five households. In 1530 the settlement appears as Gorna Savrova with 12 households. Nineteenth-century yearbooks use the name Savrova. In 1937 four Serbian colonist families from Croatia were settled here; they left at the beginning of the Second World War.
Before the 1998–99 war the village had 115 houses and around 1,395 Albanian residents. Serbian forces burned or destroyed 110 houses and a similar number of auxiliary buildings, as well as the school. Residents were forced to leave the village several times and some were expelled to Albania. Twenty villagers were killed.
