An Ottoman register from 1566 documents the settlement under the form Tobliçan with 63 households and 19 unmarried men. A historical document from 1762 mentions the settlement. A later register from 1893 documents the settlement.
Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds. Historical sources also record the settlement under the form Topliçani.
