An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement under the form Surdul. A later register from 1566 documents the settlement with 12 households and 4 unmarried men. The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Surdol.

For 1998–99, the source documents expulsion. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include building foundations. The source records migration of residents to Turkey.
