Shqiponja (Jabllanica)

Municipality Gjakova

Shqiponja (Jabllanica) is in the municipality of Gjakova. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement with 10 households and 2 unmarried men. A historical document from 1725 mentions the settlement.

For 1998–99, the source documents expulsion and burning. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include an inscription. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict. Historical sources also record the settlement under the form Zabeli.
