Shishmani

Municipality Gjakova

Shishmani is in the municipality of Gjakova. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement under the form Shishmançi with 20 households and 16 unmarried men. A later register from 1893 documents the settlement.

For 1998–99, the source documents destruction. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include pottery and tile fragments. The study records the settlement of 11 families during the colonisation period. The source records migration of residents to Turkey. Historical sources also record the settlement under the form Livadhi.
