Semetishti

Municipality Suhareka

Semetishti is in the municipality of Suhareka. A historical document from 1348 mentions the settlement. An Ottoman register from 1591 documents the settlement under the form Shemesta with 7 households and 4 unmarried men.

A later register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Semetishta. For 1998–99, the source documents burning by Serbian forces and expulsion. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds.
