Sarosh lies about 23 km northwest of Rahovec. The finds are associated with prehistoric periods.
Sarosh is documented early as a sizeable settlement: the Deçan charter of 1330 records it as Serosh. An Ottoman register from 1530 lists 20 households, while the 1591 register records the forms Srush/Srosh and a larger number of households.
Between 1934 and 1937, 11 Slavic optant families from Albania were settled here. After the 1998–1999 war, several displaced Albanian families, mainly from nearby Koznik, also settled in the locality.
