Rakoshi

Municipality Istog

Rakoshi is in the municipality of Istog. A historical document from 1253 mentions the settlement. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement with 18 households and 7 unmarried men.

A later register from 1582 documents the settlement under the form Rakos. The register from 1893 documents the settlement. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
