Ponosheci

Municipality Gjakova

Ponosheci is in the municipality of Gjakova. A historical document from 1330 mentions the settlement under the form Plonoshefci. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement under the form Bonoshuçi with 9 households and 8 unmarried men.

A later register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Ponoshefc. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
