Municipality Podujeva

Penuha is in the municipality of Podujeva. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement under the form Penduja with 20 households and 3 unmarried men. A later register from 1487 documents the settlement with 20 households and 11 unmarried men.

The register from 1530 documents the settlement. The register from 1893 documents the settlement. The source records migration of residents to Turkey. In 1877–78, Albanian muhajir families expelled from the Sanjak of Niš settled there; the source records that they later moved away.
