Palusha (Palluzha) lies about 12 km northwest of Rahovec. It is a compact settlement. Its elevation is about 400 metres above sea level. Archaeological traces in the settlement area include pottery fragments, roof tiles and bricks, old burial grounds, pointing to earlier phases of habitation. The finds are associated with Roman periods.
Written records trace the settlement at least to 1330, with further references in 1530, 1591. Historical forms of the name recorded in documents include Podlluzhja, Podluzhja përmendet. A register from 1530 records 6 households. Around 1879, the settlement had 15 households. The interwar period also brought the settlement of Serbian or Montenegrin colonist families. In 1919, the settlement suffered burning or destruction.
During the 1998–1999 war, the settlement suffered burning and destruction by Serbian forces. 13 residents were killed during the war.
