Nushpal lies about 7 km northwest of Rahovec. It is a compact settlement. Its elevation is about 400 metres above sea level. Archaeological traces in the settlement area include pottery fragments, roof tiles and bricks, building foundations, old burial grounds, pointing to earlier phases of habitation. The finds are associated with Roman periods.
Written records trace the settlement at least to 1591, with further references in 1689, 1893. Historical forms of the name recorded in documents include Maçinci përmendet. A register from 1591 records 11 households. Around 1879, the settlement formed part of the Bajrak of Polluzhës and had 18 households. During the interwar period, 13 Slavic colonist or optant families were settled here. The 20th century also brought emigration of some residents to Turkey. In 1919, the settlement suffered burning or destruction.
During the 1998–1999 war, Serbian forces burned 28 homes in the settlement.
