Nagavc lies about 8 km southwest of Rahovec. It is a compact settlement. Its elevation is about 330 metres above sea level. Archaeological traces in the settlement area include roof tiles and bricks, old burial grounds, pointing to earlier phases of habitation.
Written records trace the settlement at least to 1591, with further references in 1893, 1896. Historical forms of the name recorded in documents include Nogavca. Around 1879, the settlement formed part of the Bajrak of Hoçës së Vogël and had 16 households. The interwar period also brought the settlement of Serbian or Montenegrin colonist families.
During the 1998–1999 war, the settlement suffered burning and destruction by Serbian forces. 6 residents were killed during the war. Residents were forced to leave the village during the offensives.
