Meja

Municipality Gjakova

Meja is in the municipality of Gjakova. A historical document from 1314 mentions the settlement under the form Meja Grizime. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement.

A later register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Meja. For 1998–99, the source documents killings and disappearances by Serbian paramilitary forces. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds. A historical document mentions the settlement.
