Martirati i Epërm (Studimja e Epërme) is in the municipality of Vushtrri. An Ottoman register from 1530 documents the settlement. A later register from 1566 documents the settlement under the form Gorna Sudimli with 40 households and 9 unmarried men.
A historical document from 1630 mentions the settlement under the form Studime. The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Studime-i Bala. For 1998–99, the source documents killings. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include building foundations. Historical notes mention a mosque in the settlement. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
