Marina is in the municipality of Skenderaj. An Ottoman register from 1566 documents the settlement. For 1998–99, the source documents expulsion and killings.

Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds and building foundations. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
