Kryesheshi (Krysheci)

Municipality Peja

Kryesheshi (Krysheci) is in the municipality of Peja. A historical document from 1330 mentions the settlement. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement under the form Krusheviça with 58 households and 19 unmarried men.

A later register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Krushefca. For 1998–99, the source documents burning by Serbian forces. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include building foundations. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict. Historical sources also record the settlement under the form Grusec.
