Krushicë e Poshtme is the southwestern part of the historical settlement of Dardhishta (Krushica), which was administratively divided into two settlements in 1959. It lies about 8 km east of Theranda and is dispersed in form. Between Lumari and Dardhishta, bricks, roof tiles and stones have been recorded as evidence of earlier habitation; old route names such as Udha e Latinëve also survive in the area.
Krushica is mentioned in documents from 1348 and in an Ottoman register from 1485 with 14 households. Nineteenth-century yearbooks preserve the forms Kroshiçe and Krushevicë. Dardhishta e Poshtme is presented as the older part of the settlement and was burned during the Bulgarian occupation in the First World War.
Before the 1998–99 war Krushicë e Poshtme had 112 houses and about 742 Albanian residents. Serbian attacks burned 109 houses and many economic and auxiliary buildings. Three residents were killed, while the population was forced to leave.
