Municipality Skenderaj

Kopiliqi i Poshtëm is in the municipality of Skenderaj. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement under the form Dolnje Kopiliq with 40 households and 4 unmarried men. A later register from 1566 documents the settlement with 12 households and 2 unmarried men.

The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Kopiliq-i Zir. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include building foundations.
