Municipality Istog

Kërrnina is in the municipality of Istog. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement under the form Kërrnina with 5 households and 1 unmarried man. A later register from 1582 documents the settlement under the form Gorna Kerrnina.

For 1998–99, the source documents burning and expulsion. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
