Katunishti (Llovca) lies about 17 km southeast of Gjilan on a hilly plateau. Old burial grounds have been recorded in the village territory, together with a church site that local tradition describes as “Latin.”
The settlement is mentioned in 1438 in the debt book of the merchant Mikel Llukari under the form Lovzi, while an Austrian map from 1689 records Lovca. During the 20th century some residents moved to Gjilan, Miresh and Ferizaj.
In 1999 the village had around 150 houses and approximately 500 Albanian residents. On 5 April the population was expelled to North Macedonia. Serbian attacks killed four people and burned one house.
