Municipality Gjilan

Kalaja (Pograxha) is in the municipality of Gjilan. A historical document from 1433 mentions the settlement. An Ottoman register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Podgarak.

Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds. The source records migration of residents to Turkey. Historical sources also record the settlement under the form Capari.
