Idrizaj (Velekinca) lies about 2–3 km south of Gjilan, on the bank of the Morava River. Nearby are traces of an old fortified site and local traditions connected with an early church. The settlement does not appear clearly in the known medieval records, but it is documented in later sources.
Between the two world wars, 24 Serbian and Montenegrin colonist families were settled here. Albanian families also moved into the area, including muhajirs expelled from the Sanjak of Niš.
On 5 April 1999 the population was expelled from the village. During the war five men were killed, while 55 houses and 26 auxiliary buildings were burned or destroyed.
