An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement under the form Fshajani with 50 households and 8 unmarried men. A later register from 1530 documents the settlement under the form Ifshaj with 6 households and 2 unmarried men. The register from 1571 documents the settlement under the form Ifshan with 19 households and 9 unmarried men.
The register from 1591 documents the settlement with 23 households and 6 unmarried men. A historical document from 1689 mentions the settlement under the form Vschagni. A historical document from 1842 mentions the settlement under the form Fshaj. The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Ifshaj. In Osmani’s interpretation, archaeological traces include older burial grounds.
