Firaja (Firiqeva) is in the municipality of Kamenica. An Ottoman register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Firiqel. A historical document from 1904 mentions the settlement.

For 1998–99, the source documents killings by Serbian forces. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
