Dukaj (Dugaiva), treated in the volume as Duka (Dugajeva), lies on the right bank of the Peja Lumbardh, about 11–12 km southwest of Klina. Its territory combines hilly and lowland ground. The study records no identified archaeological remains for this settlement.
In written records, Dugajeva appears in a church report from 1725, when 5 households with 25 Christian believers were recorded. It later appears in the Deviç Monastery register in 1763, 1772, 1779 and 1780, and in the Kosovo Vilayet yearbooks of 1893, 1896 and 1900. During the interwar period, 24 Serbian and Montenegrin colonist families were settled here; most left in 1941 and only some returned after the war.
Before the Kosovo war, the village had 46 Albanian households with 552 residents and 25 Serbian households. During the war, four houses in the Bytyçi neighbourhood were burned and one member of that family was killed. Serbian houses were also destroyed after the war, while an Albanian resident was killed in circumstances recorded as unknown. The settlement's current administrative identity is in the municipality of Peja.
