Bungaja (Dvorani) lies about 9 km southeast of Theranda and is a compact settlement. Traces of an old church and burial grounds survive in the village, pointing to earlier habitation of the area. Local tradition associates some of these remains with an earlier Albanian Catholic population.
The settlement is mentioned in the memorial book of the Monastery of the Holy Trinity, kept from 1465, and in a church document from 1560. Ottoman documentation records forms such as Ajdvoran, while late-19th-century yearbooks use Idvoran or Ajdoran. Around 1920, the killing of Rexhep Abazi is remembered as an episode of violence and pressure against the only Albanian family living there at the time.
In 1998–99 the village had 17 Albanian houses with about 192 residents, alongside a larger Serbian population. During 1999 all Albanian houses were burned. On 28 March, most Albanian residents took refuge in the mountains, while some were deported to Albania.
