Beçuku

Municipality Vushtrri

Beçuku is in the municipality of Vushtrri. A historical document from 1346 mentions the settlement. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement under the form Bençoj with 35 households and 8 unmarried men.

A later register from 1566 documents the settlement under the form Bençoj with 13 households and 3 unmarried men. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include building foundations. Historical notes mention a mosque in the settlement. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
