Bardhaniqi is in the municipality of Gjakova. An Ottoman register from 1451 documents the settlement under the form Bardanji. A later register from 1485 documents the settlement under the form Bardonik with 3 households and 2 unmarried men.
The register from 1591 documents the settlement with 12 households and 3 unmarried men. The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Bard. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include building foundations.
