Ahishta (Zhitia)

Municipality Podujeva

Ahishta (Zhitia) is in the municipality of Podujeva. An Ottoman register from 1487 documents the settlement with 55 households. A historical document from 1772 mentions the settlement.

A later register from 1893 documents the settlement. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include building foundations. Historical notes mention a mosque in the settlement. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
