BEAR SANCTUARY Prishtina

Place to visitPrishtina

BEAR SANCTUARY Prishtina is a FOUR PAWS refuge near Mramor and Badovc Lake, providing lifelong, species-appropriate care for rescued brown bears.

A sanctuary, not a zoo attraction

BEAR SANCTUARY Prishtina is a FOUR PAWS project near Mramor and Badovc Lake, outside Prishtina. It was established to give rescued bears, including former “restaurant bears”, a lifelong home with space to express natural behaviour. Its importance is animal welfare and rescue, rather than entertainment.

What a visit supports

FOUR PAWS says the sanctuary offers guided visits that explain the rescued bears and the organisation’s work on animal welfare and environmental protection. Large enclosures allow the animals space, cover and places to withdraw; visitors should therefore expect a welfare setting and not demand close encounters or guaranteed sightings.

Plan directly with the sanctuary

The sanctuary is roughly a short drive from Prishtina, but visits, tours and access arrangements should be confirmed with FOUR PAWS before travelling. Follow staff guidance, keep noise low and respect animal space. It can pair naturally with Badovc Lake or a Prishtina day, but it deserves to be approached on its own ethical terms.
