Verrishti (Vërrnica)

Municipality Mitrovica

Verrishti (Vërrnica) is in the municipality of Mitrovica. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement under the form Virbnica with 28 households and 11 unmarried men. A later register from 1566 documents the settlement with 32 households and 4 unmarried men.

For 1998–99, the source documents killings. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
