Velezha is in the municipality of Prizren. A historical document from 1348 mentions the settlement. An Ottoman register from 1530 documents the settlement under the form Velje.

A historical document from 1650 mentions the settlement. A later register from 1893 documents the settlement. A historical document mentions the settlement. Historical sources also record the settlement under the form Velsa.
