Suka e Gashit (Sfërka e Gashit) lies about 17 km south of Klina. It has a compact settlement pattern. Recorded traces around the settlement include building foundations, old burial grounds, bridge remains, evidence of earlier habitation and use of the area.
Some of these traces are associated with the Illyrian-Dardanian and Roman periods. The settlement appears in written records from 1893, with further references in 1896, 1900. The 20th century also brought emigration of residents to Albania. In 1919, the settlement suffered burning, looting or killings during actions by Serbian forces.
During the 1998–1999 war, Serbian forces caused burning and destruction, the killing of 24 residents, the expulsion or displacement of residents.
