Stanishori

Municipality Gjilan

Stanishori is in the municipality of Gjilan. An Ottoman register from 1498 documents the settlement under the form Stanishor. A later register from 1566 documents the settlement under the form Istanshor with 12 households and 10 unmarried men.

For 1998–99, the source documents burning by Serbian forces. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include building foundations. A historical document mentions the settlement. The source records migration of residents to Turkey.
