Sofali lies about 2 km northeast of Prishtina. It is described as a compact settlement.
The source notes archaeological traces linking the locality with early phases of habitation. In written records, the source traces the settlement at least to 1893, with further references in 1896, 1900. One of the cited registers for 1903 records 4 households; more granular demographic details are intentionally omitted here.
Later emigration of some families to Turkey is also recorded. For 1998–1999, the source documents the burning, destruction or damage of homes and other property.
