Shala

Municipality Lipjan

Shala is in the municipality of Lipjan. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement with 74 households and 5 unmarried men. A later register from 1893 documents the settlement.

For 1998–99, the source documents killings by Serbian forces, an attack by Serbian paramilitary forces, and burning. The source records migration of residents to Turkey. Historical sources also record the settlement under the form Lama.
