Rudi (Rudica) lies about 13 km northwest of Klina between the White Drin and the Istog River. It is a lowland settlement divided into neighbourhoods. A Sanjak of Shkodra register from 1582 records the locality as uninhabited, while the Kosovo Vilayet yearbooks of 1893, 1896 and 1900 use the name Rudica.
Late 19th-century church records also note Albanian Catholic families. During the interwar period, several Serbian families were settled here, while in 1945 one Albanian family emigrated to Turkey.
Before the 1998–1999 war, the village had around 700 residents and included Albanian, Egyptian and Serbian households. As a result of the war, 7 Albanian houses, 4 Ashkali houses and Serbian houses were burned. Two KLA fighters from the settlement were killed, together with 3 civilians.
