Poturoc, treated in the volume as Arbani (Poturovci), lies about 8 km west of Lipjan and is a compact lowland settlement. At Rrahishtë and Stupe, bricks, roof tiles, older roofing material, a well and other traces have been found, indicating earlier habitation.
Kosovo Vilayet yearbooks from 1893, 1896 and 1900 record the settlement under the form Buturofca. After the expulsion of Albanians from the Sanjak of Niš in 1877–78, muhajir families also settled in the area. From 1922 onward, 17 Serbian colonist families, mainly from Herzegovina, were established in the western part of the village.
The settlement was extensively burned by the Serbian authorities in 1918. Before the last war it had around 80 families and 825 Albanian residents; on 1 April 1999 the population left, and most were expelled toward North Macedonia and Albania.
