Municipality Klina

Pjetërqi i Epërm is in the municipality of Klina. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement under the form Petriça with 49 households and 6 unmarried men. A later register from 1582 documents the settlement under the form Gornja Petriq with 23 households and 10 unmarried men.

For 1998–99, the source documents burning. Historical notes mention a church in the settlement area.
