Pasjak, treated in the volume as Muhaxheraj (Pasjaku), lies about 3 km northwest of Gjilan near the Gjilan-Prishtina road. It is a compact settlement with both hilly and lowland terrain.
The settlement was founded in 1881 by Albanian muhajir families expelled from Toplica and Jablanica. Local memory holds that the area had previously been used as a livestock resting place. During the 20th century some families migrated to Turkey and the United States.
In 1999 the village had 61 houses and around 590 Albanian residents. Serbian forces burned or destroyed more than 15 houses and many auxiliary buildings. Today Pasjak belongs to the municipality of Artana/Novo Brdo.
